Sophie Ridoux joined the Consumer and Marketing Law Unit of DG Justice at the European Commission in 2010. She is in charge of the Unfair Commercial Practices Directive and has also worked on the Unfair Contract Terms Directive. Before joining the European Commission, she worked on the Consumer Protection Cooperation (CPC) network within the General Directorate for Competition Policy, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control (DGCCRF), the French consumer enforcement authority. She started her career at the French Ministry of Economy and Finance in 2003 after completing the Regional Institute of Administration of Lyon. She graduated from Lyon III Faculty of Law in 1999.
